Learn More About Hair Transplantation

Rooney Hair Transplant

I don’t really think that there is a person who doesn’t know the legendary British football player Wayne Rooney. He was one of the youngest football players that ever played in the Premier League. He is noted for his amazing speed and strong kicks throughout his career but he was once also noted for his balding hair… Wayne Rooney has suffered such an early hair-loss problem that his hair started balding in his early 20s and his situation has always been a public interest.

Wayne Rooney, who’s currently 34, decided to get a hair transplantation surgery and he didn’t do that secretly unlike most of the other football players or famous personalities. He personally shared his before and after photos with the public, especially the ones just before his surgery.

So many famous British football players teased Wayne Rooney about his balding hair. For example, Michael Owen, another famous British football player who had a perfect career in Premier League once tweeted about Rooney’s hair. He said that Rooney’s face looks like 12 years old but the hair looks 60 years old.

I must agree that this was not supposed to say a young man who’s been suffering from a massive hair loss. However, The teasings were not meant to hurt him but to encourage him to do something about his balding hair immediately. But he sometimes responded with a heart-broken mood to his friends indicating the situation’s significance.

Which Hair Transplant Procedure Did Wayne Rooney Get?

When we take a look at the in-surgery photos of Wayne Rooney, it is not hard to say that he preferred the famous FUE, short for Follicular Hair Excision or Extraction method. The balding areas on his scalp were designated and signed, then the follicular units were extracted from his donor area. His extracted hair units ( follicles ) were put into ice to keep the roots alive. After the removal session was completely done, the extracted follicular units were planted on his scalp.

Surgeries performed by using the Follicular Unit Extraction Technique generally last 8-10 hours. Patients generally don’t feel any pain because they are administered local anesthesia. According to photos taken during Rooney’s surgery, you can see his face that he was at some pains during his operation…
